Privacy Policy

How Town Counsel Law & Litigation collects, uses and protects your information, explained in plain language.

Our Online Privacy Policy

Policy Updated: August 18, 2026.

Your privacy matters to Town Counsel Law & Litigation, LLC. This page explains, in plain language, what information this website collects, how we use it, and the choices and rights you have. The short version: we collect only what we need to respond to you and understand how our website is used, we use Google Analytics for traffic statistics and Gravity Forms for our contact forms, and we never sell the information we collect.

Who We Are

Town Counsel Law & Litigation, LLC is a Wisconsin municipal law firm located at 940 E Evergreen Drive, Kaukauna, WI 54130. We provide legal services to towns, villages, cities, counties and other public entities throughout Wisconsin, along with civil mediation services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to towncounsellawfirm.com only, not to information we receive in the course of legal representation, which is protected by professional confidentiality rules.

Information We Collect

We collect two kinds of information on this website. First, information you choose to give us, such as your name, email address, phone number and message when you submit our contact form or call or email us. Second, information collected automatically when you browse, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and how you found our site. We do not ask for, and you should not submit, sensitive personal information through this website.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, schedule consultations and mediations, and communicate with you about our services. We use automatically collected information to understand how visitors use our website, improve its content and performance, and keep it secure. We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not use third-party advertising networks on this site.

Website Analytics (Google Analytics)

Town Counsel Law & Litigation uses Google Analytics to measure website traffic: which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and general (city-level) location based on IP address. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Google may set cookies to make this measurement possible. You can opt out of Google Analytics at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by using your browser’s cookie controls. To learn how Google handles this data, see How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Contact & Intake Forms (Gravity Forms)

Our online contact forms are powered by Gravity Forms, a form plugin that runs on our own website. When you submit a form, the information you enter (name, email, phone and your message) is stored securely on our web server and emailed to our staff so we can respond. Form submissions are used only to answer your request; they are never added to marketing lists or shared with outside parties, and they are periodically reviewed and deleted when no longer needed.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. This website uses a limited number of cookies: functional cookies that help the site operate, and Google Analytics cookies that measure site usage as described above. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings; the website will continue to work if you do.

We Never Sell Your Information

Town Counsel Law & Litigation does not sell, rent, trade or otherwise monetize your personal information, and never has. We share information only in three narrow situations: with service providers who help operate this website (such as our web hosting and website management provider, Fox Valley Web Design LLC) and who may access data only to perform those services; when required by law, subpoena or court order; or to protect the rights, safety or property of our firm or others. That’s it.

No Attorney-Client Relationship Through This Website

Submitting a form, sending an email or calling our office does not create an attorney-client relationship, and information sent through this website is not protected by attorney-client privilege until we have agreed to represent you. Please do not send confidential or time-sensitive details about a legal matter until a representation agreement is in place.

Data Retention & Security

We keep form submissions and correspondence only as long as needed to respond to you, meet our professional and legal obligations, and maintain business records. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics’ standard retention settings. This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, is maintained with current software updates and security monitoring, and access to submitted information is limited to firm personnel who need it.

Your Privacy Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct or delete personal information a business holds about you, or to opt out of certain uses. As of 2026, twenty U.S. states have comprehensive consumer privacy laws; while Wisconsin has not yet adopted one and most of these laws exempt small businesses like ours, we honor the spirit of them for every visitor. You may contact us at any time to ask what information we have about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it, and we will respond promptly. Where applicable, we also respect browser-based opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).

Children’s Privacy

This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our website, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Third-Party Links & Embedded Content

Pages on this site may link to outside websites, such as Wisconsin statutes, government resources, our social media profiles, or mapping services. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit from ours.

Changes to This Policy

We review this Privacy Policy periodically and update it when our practices or the law change. The effective date below always reflects the most recent revision, and material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
